About Coach

Hey y'all! My name is Ryann Bowser. I am a small-town kid from Kansas and have recently moved to the Brookside area with my fiance, Myranda. Taking it back to childhood, I grew up playing all the sports and was a pretty competitive kid. I found a passion for basketball at an early age and I pursued playing basketball in college! I graduated from Texas Tech University, where I played college basketball for 2 years (yes, I went to school with Patrick Mahomes and indeed attended some of his house parties) after a 2-year stint at Highland Community College. After undergrad, I pursued a master's Degree in Sport Management, looking for a career in the sports and fitness world when I graduated. I took my first professional job working with children in a before and after-school program. I absolutely loved it but something was missing. I wanted to coach, I wanted to be around sport, fitness, and like-minded individuals! I decided to get my personal training certification and shortly after I took a job as the General Manager of a CrossFit gym in Gardner, KS. Fast forward to now, I have decided to open Rare Breed CrossFit & Athletics. I can't wait to share my knowledge, values, and mission to serve and support my own KC community.

Turning Point

My turning point was after COVID - I was sedentary for the last 2 years and I needed to change something. I disliked the way I looked and the way I felt. I was tired of buying gym memberships and never using them! I wanted a community and accountability to help me get back into fitness.

I finally joined a group fitness gym and fell in love with the challenging workouts and community. I was finally using my gym membership and it was paying off, I was seeing results! I was hooked.


Motivation & Passion

My purpose for coaching is to empower my clients to do hard things, to challenge themselves, and to be the best version of YOU. I want my clients to feel seen, included and have fun when they are at my gym or training with me. I meet my clients where they are at and push them to be the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves.
