At Rare Breed, we don’t just host the Intramural Open every year for the competition. We do it because it brings out the heart of who we are.

The Intramural Open is our way of creating something bigger than a workout. It’s about building relationships, cultivating a culture of love and support, and fostering deep, genuine connections within our gym walls. It’s about learning each other’s names, cheering each other on, and finding joy in showing up—not just for yourself, but for the people beside you.

Sure, it’s fun to throw down and test your fitness, but our Open is designed to remind you why you started, who you're doing it with, and how much stronger we are together.

And wow—did 2025 deliver.

Over the last four weeks, we’ve witnessed the Rare Breed community come alive like never before. From superhero-themed entrances and Friday Night Lights-style workouts to spontaneous dance-offs and team cheer contests, this year’s Intramural Open was pure magic.

You showed up, stepped up, and supported each other in the most incredible ways. Whether you were crushing your first ever Open workout or helping someone through theirs, every rep was rooted in camaraderie. Every high-five, every cheer, every moment—built connection.

The competition was fierce (in the most fun way), and the race for first place stayed tight all the way through. But when the chalk dust settled, one team emerged victorious and claimed the title of 2025 Champs!

More importantly though, we all walked away with something better than a podium finish:

  • New friendships.
  • A stronger sense of community.
  • A deeper commitment to showing up and staying accountable.

This event was the perfect way to close out Quarter 1—reminding us why we train, who we train with, and why we never do this alone.

To everyone who danced, dressed up, competed, judged, cheered, and brought the energy every single week—thank you. YOU made this special.

The Intramural Open may be done, but the fire it sparked? That’s still burning strong.

Let’s carry that into the rest of 2025. Let’s keep showing up—for each other.
