Walking into a new gym or community can be intimidating—downright scary, even. We get it. At Rare Breed, we know that taking the first step, making the decision to show up, is the hardest part. But from the moment you walk through our doors, we make it our mission to remove the fear and replace it with support, guidance, and a community that genuinely cares about your success.

From your very first interaction to your 20th class or personal training check-in, we work hard to make every step as smooth and stress-free as possible. Our onboarding process is designed to help you build confidence, feel supported, and see real progress. Here’s how we do it:

Step 1: No Sweat Intro – A No-Pressure Start

The journey begins with a No Sweat Intro, a relaxed, one-on-one sit-down with Coach Ryann. You don’t need to wear workout clothes—just come as you are. We’ll talk about your goals, your why, and how we can best support you. This conversation helps us determine the right plan for you, whether it’s personal training, group fitness, or a combination of both. If Rare Breed isn’t the best fit for your goals, we’ll even recommend another local gym that might be a better match.

Step 2: Personalized Path – Finding What Works for You

We have two main training routes at Rare Breed:

  • Personal Training or Small Group Training: If you prefer a more individualized approach or have a specific goal in mind, we hit the ground running with a focus on form and technique. Over the first four weeks, we teach fundamental movement patterns—squat, hinge, deadlift, and pressing—ensuring you move safely and effectively. Everyone progresses at their own pace, and we tailor our training to meet you where you are. If you’re a marathon runner looking to get stronger and improve your race times, we design a program to help you do just that.
  • Group Fitness Classes: If you thrive in a motivating group environment, we start you with a 5-session On Ramp Course. This program introduces you to all the foundational movements you’ll see in our classes, ensuring you build confidence and understand proper technique. Plus, it helps our coaches learn how to best support you in your training. After On Ramp, we’ll guide you in choosing the membership option that suits your schedule and goals—whether that’s unlimited classes or a set number per month.

Step 3: Ongoing Support & Community

Your journey doesn’t stop after On Ramp or your first personal training session. At Rare Breed, we stay involved, checking in on your progress, offering tips, and ensuring you feel comfortable and confident. Our coaches are some of the most inviting, personable people you’ll meet. We aren’t bodybuilders, we aren’t on steroids, and we don’t have massive, intimidating muscles. We’re everyday people who are passionate about helping others become fit, healthy, and happy.
